Meant to drop you a line sooner about the Side Show antho. I absolutely loved it. Great pro-looking book. That cover art by Chad Savage is a killer. Barry Hollander's "Three Chickens" is fantastic. And what an ending! Mike Arnzen's "Suicide Show" positively reeked with carnie atmosphere. Outstanding. And speaking of atmosphere, "Gypsy Pigs" by somebody called Cathy Buburuz was an exercise in raw depravity. Reminded me of the sort of thing Joe Lansdale does so well, but most writers are afraid to touch. Loved it. I suppose I could go and on and tell you how Stephen Bracco's "Little Hans" made me feel creepy the way I get after a particularly effective Thomas Liggoti story or how J.L. Navarro's "Tattoos" burned bleak and disturbing across my soul, but I'll try to keep things short. Just let me mention two more pieces. The first being "Anything" by J.E. Deegan. Jesus. That one squeezed me dry. As a parent with two little girls of my own, I got angry, real angry at the suffering of that poor child, but the ending...magical. Beautiful. What a writer, what a rare talent that can take you on such a journey!! Lastly, "The Devil's Children" by Richard Dysinger. Another great writer with a wonderful turn of phrase and a surreal, unpleasant undertone. That one made me feel queasy. Real queasy.

Okay, I'm done blubbering now. Just let me say that it was one hell of an antho and I was in damn fine company. Thanks for letting me be part of it.
