EDITORIAL

Welcome to yet another issue of The Fifth Di... It seems as the elections approach here in America, people are writing more stories with a political side to them...and most of them seem pretty angry with the way things are. This issue features two such stories, and our illustrious editor in chief, Tyree Campbell, expresses himself quite forcefully in his latest Tuppence with an opinion that I can say I generally disagree with...but it can be a good thing to disagree with your friends.

Over the last year I've gotten a few e-mails about our publishing "controversial" stories. Some people have been upset because we've posted very liberal stories, a story about homosexuality, a story about atheism, and a story with a clearly Christian message. Well, all I have to say is that when I read a story, I'm looking for a good story...subject matter isn't all that important, as long as it fits our guidelines. If I like a story I'll publish it, whether I agree with the message or not. We're not here to try and sway our readers to a certain set of beliefs...we're here to publish the best science fiction and fantasy we can find. If you're actually offended by something we publish, I won't apologize. A lot of times, it's the things that offend us that can best help us to change our worldview.

And just so you know, some of the stories in this issue could offend...
