"An only child, I was born and raised in wine country - Napa Valley, California - and spent most of the first part of my life, to the age of 42, in northern California.
My interests were and are eclectic. I've played the clarinet, marched in a school band, and played and coached softball. At one time I enjoyed fencing, and perhaps may resume that sport one day. My main interest, from a creative aspect, is clay sculpture. My primary focus is on fantasy masks with African roots. Some of my work appears elsewhere in this member's page.
I also enjoy drawing. I use pencil, or pastel chalk, the occasional pen, and acrylic paint. My themes are fantasy and the possible, although Cathy Buburuz wondered recently if I had begun a drift toward horror. I just draw as the hand guides me, and write what the voices tell me to write, and let others pigeonhole, if they must.
On the walls of our house I have fulfilled every childhood dream by coloring on the walls! I do trees in acrylics, and occasionally use collector's plates as ornaments. A photo of one such tree is also elsewhere in this member's page.'
I thoroughly enjoy old movies, especially black-and-white [silver screen], New Age music - especially the Irish sounds, Classical music, and anything with clarinets, cellos, or pianos. I love British comedies and good coffee.
My idea of a good day is to throw some clay, draw a picture, and read a book. My preferences are fantasy and science fiction, and my favorite authors are McCaffrey, Farmer, and Bradley.
THINGS I DISLIKE ~
Disruptive influences, controlling people, and abusive language. Whoever invented colorization of black-and-white movies should be sent to Dante's Eleventh Hell.
