BETWEEN KISSES SPECIAL BULLETIN!!

 

Effective immediately, Between Kisses is closed to submissions.  The current issue of Between Kisses, which is the October 2007 issue, is the last one that will be posted.  Please do read the October issue, however.  That's what it's there for :-D.

 

Now, then.  We ask that you do not become overwrought about this development.  All submissions currently in the Between Kisses slush pile will be read and considered for publication.  The fact is, we are still going to need poetry and short stories for our updates and so forth--this will all be explained in the December Expressions Newsletter.  Right now, we're just trying to get everyone notified.

 

Moreover, this closure is in no way a reflection of the circumstances at Sam's Dot Publishing.  We are doing very nicely, thank you.  But we do need to move some furniture around, so to speak.  We hope that you will bear with us.

 

When we do reopen to submissions for our update newsletter, as yet untitled, the submissions address will be sdpshowcaseNOSPAM at yahoo dot com.  We're sure that you can figure out what you have to do to make this a viable e-mail address--as you might have guessed, we're also trying to reduce the effects of spam.

"Between Kisses" is the official bimonthly newsletter of Sam's Dot Publishing.  Through the 31 October 2003 issue it was a quarterly print newsletter.  Effective the 1 February 2004 issue it will be published bimonthly [the 1st day of even-numbered months] online in the Sam's Dot Publishing site.  Each issue features announcements, promotions, discount sales, contests, and news of note for Sam's Dot Publishing and outside interests, and includes poems, stories, and color and b&w art.

 

Submission Guidelines: E-mail submissions only. In the subject line of the e-mail type Poemsub, Fictionsub, or Artsub and the title of your work. All submissions should include at the top your name, snail mail, and e-mail address.  Include a short one paragraph bio if you wish.  Send submissions to:   betweenkisses@samsdotpublishing.com .  Response time two months. Query after 10 weeks. No simultaneous submissions. If the submission is a reprint, please indicate date and place of original publication. 

 

Poetry: 25 lines max, in the genres of fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. Submissions can be attached as a RTF file or included in the body of the e-mail. 

 

Fiction:  2000 words max. Same genres and conditions as poetry, but we would like to see less horror and more science fiction and fantasy.  Quirky material gets our attention, too—but please don’t be corny with it, just quirky.

 

Art: Color or B&W illos, 300kb max jpeg files please. Same genres as poetry.

 

Payment:  Effective the issue of 1 February 2004, the following payments apply:

 

Poetry:  Payment is $2 for original, $1 for reprint.

 

Art:  Payment is $5 for original color art for the door, $2 for all other art, color or b&w, original or reprint.

 

Story:  Payment is $5.00 per original story, $3.00 for reprints.

 

SPECIAL NOTICE:  It is the contributor’s responsibility to notify the publisher of any change in mailing or e-mailing addresses.  We cannot trace you telepathically, much as we’d like to.  You have to tell us.  Otherwise, your payment could wind up in the hands of “occupant.”
